Numbers
Numbers can be written with different numbering systems. Within the Latin numbering sytem alone, different characters are used as decimal and group (e.g. thousands) separators, as well as other symbols like the percent sign. Currencies also have a wide variations of formatting (note: the ¤ symbols stands for the actual currency sign).

Dates
Dates and times have a lot of complexities. To begin with, the gregorian calendar is not always the preferred calendar. Even within the gregorian calendar, there are variations in how to represent dates and times, on top of course translating names of months, time zones, and other elements.
